Sander’s new SMD outdoor LED features an IPX6 water-resistant rating in a PLCC6 package. Not only it is water-resistant, but it is also high in performance, designed to be the ideal choice for outdoor full color led video display. It has a wide viewing angle at 120 degrees and at the same time gives intensity over 1120mcd on the red 2240mcd on the green and 560mcd on the blue, making it possible to design larger pitch size modules with surface mount led as well.

This PLCC6 package is taller at 2.8mm making potting possible, and at the same time saves the amount of silicon used in comparison to traditional through-hole led, thus creating a lighter weight module, which not only saves on cost but also broadens the applications of the led module.

The encapsulation resin used contains UV inhibitors to minimize the damage of long-term exposure to the sun, resulting in sustainable light output over the life of the LED. This new technology resolved the LED light degradation issue which the market has long been troubled with SMD LED.
